GPT works with industry groups, community organisations and partners to participate in the conversations and innovations that shape our industry and provide our people with the opportunity to excel. Insights from these engagements help shape how we deliver economic, social and environmental benefits for our stakeholders.
We are members of industry associations, programs and initiatives that progress topics in support of long-term value creation for our industry, stakeholders and the communities in which we operate.
Through these memberships and partnerships, we support a range of industry initiatives and programs, including:
- Membership of the Property Council of Australia, along with sponsorship of its 500 Women in Property program, Pride in Property event and Capital Markets Forum, and participation in industry events and professional development and training programs.
- Membership of the Green Building Council of Australia, including support for its events and initiatives, as well as building certification through the Green Star rating tool.
- Membership of the Shopping Centre Council of Australia, supporting advocacy on key policy and regulatory issues affecting our retail portfolio, including leasing, planning and development, energy and sustainability, land valuation and taxation, trading hours and community safety.
- Membership of the United Nations Global Compact Network of Australia, supporting its Ten Principles relating to human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption.
- The GPT Foundation, which supports community organisations and initiatives focused on improving the lives of people experiencing disadvantage. Learn more about The GPT Foundation.
- Red Cross Australia, supporting our modern slavery prevention initiatives, governance and learning.
In 2025, GPT spent a total of $509,450 with organisations that influence policy, supporting memberships and the initiatives outlined above. This included three peak bodies: Property Council of Australia ($338,100), Green Building Council of Australia ($16,450), Shopping Centre Council of Australia ($140,000) and UN Global Compact Network of Australia ($14,900).
