Mr Faddy said the $30 million upgrade demonstrated GPT’s commitment to ensuring the Riverside Centre remained one of Brisbane’s landmark office address. The upgrade included a new lobby and food court, a fresh design and landscaping for the plaza area and a state-of-the-art building management system. “The revitalisation of the Riverside Centre ensures it will remain one of Brisbane CBD’s most sought after business addresses well into the future,” said Mr Faddy.
Located in the heart of Brisbane’s prestigious ‘Golden Triangle’, the Riverside Centre, owned by the GPT Wholesale Office Fund (GWOF), has uninterrupted views down both stretches of the Brisbane River that can never be interrupted.
GPT Wholesale Office Fund manager Martin Ritchie said: “The visual simplicity of the original Seidler design has provided the perfect canvas for the Lobby upgrade and has made for a seamless blending of the original and the new.” “The Lobby has been reconfigured to adapt to a more modern style of work and doing business, with collaboration areas, as well as quiet spaces where people can work remotely.”
The Riverside Centre’s refurbishment has also seen the introduction of a new security system, a modernised lift system and a premium end-of-trip facility with storage for 200 bikes. The advanced Building Management Control Systems manages the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, lighting and provides remote access control. This has ensured better comfort for tenants and also significantly improved energy and water efficiency.
The 40-floor building includes 51,600sqm of floor space and this year was awarded a 5 Star NABERS Energy Rating.
